When a road trip game is worth the trip
AUSTRALIA’S most popular road trip title could be the one that can bring the best out of you and your car.
AUSTRIA’s roads are so packed with people, it’s a little bit like a big family of drivers, but for those who love to take their own vehicles out for a roadtrip.
The road trip is a popular holiday tradition in Australia, where drivers are more likely to take the car for a joyride than to take it for a business trip, a survey found.
The average time for a driver to get a roadside experience was 5.8 hours and it was the longest for anyone on a solo trip, according to the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
“It’s a really great way to get to know your fellow drivers and to have a little time to yourself and just have fun,” said the Road Trip Club’s Andrew Smith.
“You’re a bit of a road tripper.”
In Victoria, the average time to get on the road was 4.4 hours, while for Queensland it was 4 hours.
The survey also found drivers are most likely to have fun in the car, but not necessarily in the front seat.
The best part of the road trip?
The drive home.
Smith said the joys of driving a car are not limited to just enjoying the road and driving, but the trip itself.
“If you’re going out and about you want to do things like go to the gym or do some of the other activities that the people are doing on the drive home, the rest of it is very relaxing,” he said.
So you can really enjoy the drive if you get to enjoy it that way.”
