Stetson Open Road Conditions: 3/11/2017
By Ben FlemmingTalkSportOnline.com |Posted on Monday, April 13, 2017 | 00:25 |Track and field athletes and runners are encouraged to take their time during the week before the race.
The race is the first in a three-week program that will test endurance, agility and coordination.
It will test how the world of road running and the sport is viewed from a distance.
A total of 25,000 people are expected to participate in the event.
To get a feel for the terrain, the field is being put through its paces at the University of Stetsons open road training center.
Stetson Road runners will be able to run up and down the road for the first time on Wednesday and then compete against their friends for the overall lead.
All of the athletes are encouraged not to compete in the race in any way.
However, the track is not designed for running so if a runner is caught in a stall they can be disqualified.
Here are the most popular courses:Bermuda, California, California State, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin and Wyoming.
